Mishkan Israel was founded by Rabbi and Mrs. Israel Stock, OBM, in 1979. It was established as a sub-division of the father organization ,"Yeshiva Achei Tmimim Lubavitz" which Rabbi Stock established in 1945 at the behest of the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Joseph Isaac Schneeerson זצוקלה"ה . The yeshiva functioned as a school, perhaps more widely known by it's other name: Bridgeport Hebrew Day School. The newly formed organization blossomed into a wide array of sub organizations, such as a Synagogue, Nursery, Day Camp, and Chabad House. The organization developed to the point where we started including the surrounding towns, such as Trumbull, Westport, Milford, Fairfield, Stamford, and Easton, to name a few. In 1965, Rabbi Stock moved the organization to bigger grounds in Trumbull, CT, where we are today.
